This crazy little gem is the Wanderlust Hotel in Singapore. Full of life, funky and quirky all rolled into one. No two rooms are alike and designs range in style anywhere from art deco to whimsical childlike imagination.

Rocket Man. What's up Elton?

The lounge and bar is welcoming and vibrant. Design creativity at it's best. The space is filled with vintage pieces and sculptures. Grab a seat in one of the old school barber chairs or drop your cocktail at one of the industrial size wire spool tables.

Santorini, Greece

The wife and I went to Santorini, Greece a few years back with some friends. It was amazing. The architecture is crazy because it is so rich in tradition and so unique. The houses and buildings were all white washed. Cooler colors = cooler temperatures. This house is completely white inside and out. And, the driftwood mirror below is pretty bad ass too. Mythos anyone?

Costa Rica

My wife Allison and I went to Costa Rica a few years ago. It was pretty crazy laying on the beach with monkeys overhead. The weather was amazing, the setting was unreal and I would definitely go back. This house does a great job at blending the outdoor with the indoor. A must if you are lucky enough to have a home in a place like this.

San Miguel de Allende

I am lucky enough to be on vacation this week with my wife, Leo and her entire family. We never get to see them all at the same time, so it is a blast. In honor of the vacation, I'm going to post about some bad ass vacation homes this week. Short and sweet posts, so enjoy.

These pictures are actually from my wife. She used to go on photo shoots with her job and she went on one in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It's actually in central Mexico and even though there is no lake/ocean, it is a pretty sweet looking place to vacation.

Santa Lucia Preserve

In 2008 we attended the wedding of Brooke and Paul, friends from college days who we don't see often enough. The wedding was at the Santa Lucia Preserve outside of Carmel, California. They had an amazing wedding including a relaxed family style rehearsal dinner, a ceremony under a natural cathedral of Redwood trees and the reception was in a bad ass barn (top photo).

The Santa Lucia Preserve is an exclusive private community that is 20,000 acres and has 300 homes. I was going through some old pictures and started researching the actual houses on the property. They are all unique and have sweet architecture.

This one takes on a more modern look as opposed to the farmhouse style of most of the common buildings on the grounds. There's a really nice blend of indoor and outdoor living with the large window wall that opens up to the kitchen. And I like how the metal fireplace chase makes a statement. It works so well with the crisp lines and pewter colors of the exterior materials. The outdoor living is a total must if you are lucky enough to reside in a place like Santa Lucia.
