A snap shot of the guest bath found in a modern farmhouse reno in upstate New York. A wide open, roomy space that blends salvaged antiques with a modern vibe. There's not a lot to it but it works. I love the creativity and simplicity of each piece in this space. I also like the fact that each piece tells a story of an earlier time and place.
A nice old Italian marble sink and floating top hung together for the vanity. Not a total match but again it follows the vibe of the space. Accented with the modern, chrome wall mount faucet.
And finally the tub. A relic from the 1800's originally fabricated out of wood and zinc and wrapped in stainless steel.

How fresh? Check this. The wood tub. Hand carved from a fallen Calden tree. A staple at Hotel de Lujo Mio Buenos Aires.
A cool setting here with this tub. They dropped the floor and fabricated a custom stainless steel pan to hold the rocks. A creative little idea. I like the contrasting colors of the tub and the sink as well. It's just right and is a good example of how you can mix items and still make them work. The tub is by Wetstyle. Handcrafted.

It's a modern take on a claw foot tub and it works so well with the dark floors. I'm not opposed to hardwood in the bathroom. I think the floors really complete the space. Really - how often do you find the floors in your bathroom soaking wet? Be a little different. Go with hardwood. They even incorporated radiant heat underneath the floor. So nice. Nothing like warm floors no matter where they are.
