The drafting table island. Such a sweet idea. The vibe is just perfect in this rustic, farmhouse kitchen. They even incorporated a variety of old school drafting chairs and stools. And a big, chunky island like this can definitely handle the burly canopy fixtures.

Floating Vanity

A little love for the floating vanity. Custom built out of mahogany. Warm and solid and doesn't overpower the space. I like the towel holders too. Kept out of the way and not interfering with the design in the mirror and sconces.

Corner Building

How do you design on a triangular piece of land that no one wants to buy? You commit to the challenge, put out an outrageous, creative design and showcase how you made it happen. The building speaks for itself so there's no need to go overboard on materials. A mix of stone, concrete and glass. They kept it simple and clean. A play on shapes. A triangular building with square exterior elements.

Crystal Head

Whether you're a vodka drinker on not this packaging is just badass. This is by Crystal Head. You can check their full story here. The bottle head was said to be inspired by the archaeological mystery of the 13 crystal heads that have been found around the world, dating anywhere from 5,000 to 35,000 years old. Crazy. The bottle instantly becomes a design element. Use it as a vase, candle holder or kids piggy bank. Or just keep it around for Halloween. Paneled Glass Stair

It's usually little unique details that catch my eye when researching and exploring for projects. This time it's all about the stair rail system. This is custom at its finest. The vibe here is the mixing of both modern and traditional design elements. I love the detail and creativity in the bubbled-glass panels and the way they're tied-in by the metal cable.

Stone Barn Transformed

An old 15th century barn gets remodeled and goes modern. What was once much darker and closed off is now more fluid, brighter and wide open.

I like the way they've keep the rustic character and volume with the detail in the beams and rafters while incorporating little modern flashes with the loft and skylights.

A sleek transition between the formal living area and separate sleeping quarters, the glass walkway is sweet.

A cool pairing at the dining area with the funky, white chairs and the natural stain of the birch table and high-back banquette seating. Also love the surface mounted disc style lights in the kitchen. This post also runs over at my weekly guest home, Fred Flare.

Rustic Porch

A rustic porch that could compliment any style choice. This is paired with a more modern vibe. It's such a nice blend with the natural surroundings of the site.

A structural make-up of hand hewn posts and beams. It's simple and basic yet full of character and craft.

A nice finishing touch with the knotty cedar rafters and screen panels. It gives just enough contrast when paired with the beams.
