Pirate Room

Is this a kids bedroom or a movie set? Talk about crazy. If you have a love of pirates then this is for you. So unique and so well done. This is craft and creativity all rolled into one. Hand hewn beams, faux finishes and a rope bridge.

They've even incorporated the underwater feel with the painted murals on the walls.

Maps And Globes

As I was leaving this morning I had maps on my mind. My sweet wife and oldest little nugget had paused the weather map on TV and were pointing out places around the country where relatives live. A classic idea in a kids room or playroom that's definitely been done a few times over, however it's the way you do it to make it your own. They went vintage here which is the direction I would take it with our style home. Classic, retro style. The beauty of the map or globe is that you can find a way to incorporate it into any style.

I also like the overall layout and feel to this boys room with the mix of woods, colors and textures. Also, a cool idea with the applied, painted wood on just two of the walls here.

A very cool look with this custom made frame and headboard. A warm vibe and solid, heavy feel that balances the white.

How would you decide who gets what level? Age? It's a cool idea and nice use of space if you have the height. I also like how each cubby has it's own reading light.

Nooks and Crannies

As a kid, my wife had a bedroom with a dormer and to this day talks about how she loved that room. Sometimes creating a little niche within a wall can add a little dimension to an otherwise plain space. It can create a unique place for custom built-ins, or just childhood memories, like my wife's.
